Collect that last bit of dust from your DeWALT miter saw while enjoying safer, cleaner cuts!
This replacement throat plate for the DeWALT DWS715 miter saw features a unique dust shroud that attaches to the bottom side of the throat plate to redirect the dust that falls below the table, sending it back to the dust collection where it belongs.
It also features a replaceable, zero-clearance insert for safer, cleaner miter cuts. The replaceable insert slides in or out from the front of the saw without the need to remove the throat plate.

NOT INTENDED FOR BEVEL CUTS! The throat plate and dust shroud are intended to be used with the blade at 90 degrees to the table. You can enjoy dust-free, quality cuts at any miter angle your saw was designed to make, but bevel cuts will destroy the dust shroud and may damage the throat plate as well.
WORKS FOR THIN & FULL KERF BLADES! Designed with just the right amount of clearance to account for the flex that can happen when not pulling perfectly straight down on the handle.
DOES NOT FIT THE DEWALT DW716 OR DWS716! DeWALT miter saws share a lot in common, but their working geometry makes them just different enough that this dust collection throat plate isn't interchangeable between other models. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK WHICH SAW MODEL YOU HAVE BEFORE ORDERING! (Model numbers can be found on the top side of the motor.)

This purchase comes with (1) dust collection throat plate, (1) replaceable insert and (1) dust shroud. Insert comes preinstalled in the throat plate, dust shroud needs to be glued to the throat plate using cyanoacrylate glue ("super glue") via the alignment tabs. A video can be seen HERE for more information and instructions (Example in video is for a DWS716, but the process is the same for DW715 saws).

The product arrived promptly and in great condition. The two pieces installed effortlessly and provided great fit and fitness. The zero clearance insert however, split in half the first time time i used it. I used a sacrificial piece of wood as the instructions suggested but it still split. With the insert split, one side lifts up when cutting and negates the throat plates intention of routing dust into the pick-up chute.
I think the design and concept are very will thought out, but will need a new insert to verify.

While I have never had this happen personally, I have heard of it happening before. Unfortunately, it happens so infrequently that I don't have enough information collected to find out how to avoid it. With so many possible culprits, like type/quality of blade, how fast or slow the initial cut is made, and so on, it has been a challenge to find a fix.
At any rate, I am sending you some new inserts to get you up and running!
